LUKE DALLER JEWELRY

Luke Daller is a jewelry designer based in Pittsburgh, PA. He has been creating wire jewelry since he was 21 and has since discovered many innovative and intricate ways in which to set a stone in a piece of jewelry using nothing more than gold or silver wire.

Luke came to Macroscopic Solutions to have his pieces imaged in high-resolution to be used for prints and promotion. The images show the incredible detail of each piece, and will help you understand the amount of patience and effort that goes into each one.

Luke’s passion for this jewelry-making stems from a friend of his that used to sell wire jewelry at music and art festivals.

“All it took was one glance at his jewelry case and I knew I had to have a wire pendent,” Luke said. “They looked alien to me, in such a way that filled me with curiosity and, dare I say, infatuation with the process behind the construction of these small landscapes of silver.”

The only issue, of course, was the price tag that all too often accompanies such wonderful artwork. It was then that Luke considered making his own pieces. After mulling over the idea for a year, he finally made a trip to Michaels craft store.

“I bought a variety of copper and aluminum wire, some cheap semiprecious beads and rocks, and a few pairs of pliers. About four years and some hundreds of pieces later, I now feel like I'm finally starting to make some progress with my skills and business. I'm going to love these little wire creations for life.”

Luke also explains how his creations help him cope with the hectic world around us.

“This art form is great for developing discipline and patience, which are fading commodities in today's fast-paced world of the ‘I want it now’ mind set.”

Luke plans to continue with his work for the foreseeable future.
